Halloween is the one time of year when "wild" wall décor is not just accepted — it's celebrated. But what if, instead of a plastic skeleton or a store-bought wreath, you hung something truly one of a kind? Something handcrafted. Something real. Something that tells a story every single time someone walks through your door.
At Bones & Hide Preservation we're giving you the chance to do exactly that.
Introducing Our Raccoon Rug/Wall Mount Class — October 10, 2026
This October, we're hosting a hands-on class where YOU get to create a stunning raccoon rug wall mount — no experience needed, and yes, you take it home the same day.
Here's how it works: you'll start with a beautifully tanned raccoon hide that I have already prepped for you, and together we'll choose the fabric neck piece that suits your style. From there, you'll build a wall mount that's dramatic, textural, and unique to you. It's part craft class, part natural history lesson, and part Halloween magic.
Class details:
- 📅 Date: Saturday, October 10, 2026
- ⏱ Duration: Approximately 4 hours
- 💰 Price: $400/person
- 📍 Location: Bones & Hide Preservation Studio, London, Ontario
- 🪑 Spots: Limited — only 6 spots available
- 💳 A 50% deposit holds your spot
Why a Raccoon Wall Mount?
Raccoons are iconic in Ontario's natural landscape — curious, clever, and undeniably striking. A tanned hide wall mount is a piece of natural art that fits beautifully in cottages, living rooms, offices, and yes — especially in Halloween-decorated spaces that lean into the wild and the weird.
Unlike mass-produced Halloween décor that ends up in the bin on November 1st, this piece will last for years. It's a conversation starter, a statement piece, and a genuine connection to the natural world — all in one.
Perfect For:
- Nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts
- Cottage and cabin owners looking for rustic wall art
- Halloween decorators who want something genuinely spine-tingling
- Anyone who's ever wanted to try taxidermy but didn't know where to start (this class is NOT going to have the yuck)
No Experience? No Problem.
Every class at Bones & Hide is designed for beginners. I walk you through every step with patience, humour, and a whole lot of passion for the craft. (So I have been told but a few students). You'll leave not just with a finished piece, but with real skills and a deeper appreciation for natural history preservation.
Ready to Hang Something Wild This Halloween?
Spots for the October 10 class are limited to just 6 people, so don't wait. Request more information or reserve your spot today — a 50% deposit holds your place.
This Halloween, skip the plastic. Hang something real. 🦝
