What is pet preservation?

Pet preservation is the art of carefully preparing and honoring your pet's remains so they can be cherished for years to come. At Bones & Hide, I offer a range of preservation services including bone cleaning, hide tanning, paw and nose prints, and more — each one a meaningful way to remember your beloved companion.

What pets can be preserved?

What does the process look like?

Every preservation is unique, but generally the process involves:

1. Initial consultation — we discuss your pet, your vision, and which preservation service is right for you
2. Meet-up or shipping — we arrange either a local meet-up or safe shipping of your pet to my studio
3. Intake & assessment — I photograph your pet, go over the full process with you, and make sure we're aligned on expectations
4. Preservation work — your pet is carefully and respectfully prepared using professional techniques suited to your chosen service
5. Return — your finished preservation is returned to you, ready to be treasured in your home

How long does it take?

Timelines vary depending on the service and the size of the animal. I'll give you a realistic timeframe during intake and keep you updated throughout.

Is it right for me?
